Non-Revenue Water (NRW) or Water Loss is shortchanging utilities on a massive scale. NRW occurs when systemic leaks in piping infrastructure, aging meters, and/or theft creates an imbalance between the quantity pumped and the amount consumed. Non-revenue water percentage (NRW) reflects the difference between the amount of water supplied through the water distribution system and that billed to customers.
